We’ve spent the past several months rebuilding the Androidacy Magisk modules website from scratch, and Premium subscribers can now access the beta. The performance improvements are significant: pages load 3-5x faster than before, and mobile browsing works considerably better. If you’ve dealt with slow loading times or clunky mobile navigation, this update addresses both.
A Complete Rebuild Focused on Speed
The repository interface was rebuilt from the ground up, replacing the old iframe-based system with a modern framework. The biggest architectural change happens server-side: most processing now occurs on our infrastructure instead of in your browser. Your device does less work, pages load faster, and security validation happens where it should.
Pages load 3-5x faster in testing1. We also cleaned up the interface, removing elements that slowed down module discovery without helping users find what they needed. The result is more responsive navigation throughout.
Some aspects remain unchanged. The web interface still has download wait times, while the app doesn’t (though that may change). Free users get 10 downloads per day at speeds up to 1Mbps, adjusted based on server load. Premium members have no download limits or speed restrictions. This helps keep things free and fair, while rewarding genuine supporters.
Free users will see roughly one third fewer ads2. As always, premium members browse completely ad-free on both the website and app.
Better Magisk Modules Website Discovery Experience
The featured modules section received a full redesign. Finding quality modules is faster because the layout makes it easier to scan options and understand what each module does. Information is organized more clearly, so you can evaluate whether something meets your needs without navigating through multiple pages.
Download captchas are gone for now. This creates a more direct path from discovering a module to downloading it. However, if we notice a pattern of abuse, we may be forced to add them back – so be responsible and keep things fair for everyone.
Mobile users will see notable improvements. The previous Magisk modules website worked on phones and tablets, but the new version is more responsive. Touch controls are refined, and layouts adapt better to different screen sizes. Regular mobile users will notice the difference immediately. Tablet users can now use an interface better suited for their device.
What’s Moving to the App
Some features have shifted exclusively to the app as part of this redesign. Reviews and changelogs now require the Androidacy Module Manager app. You’ll still see overall module ratings on the web, which provides a quick sense of community reception, but reading individual reviews or writing your own means using the app. Changelogs work the same way.
This split is intentional and allows the web interface to focus on what browsers handle best: loading quickly, efficient browsing, and fast downloads. The app handles more interactive features using native capabilities better suited for detailed content like reviews and version histories.
This is beta software. Some features aren’t finished, and we expect to make adjustments based on testing and feedback from Premium members.
As for our valued module developers, we’re building a web interface for module submission, updates, and repository management. This will provide better tools for maintaining modules and pushing new versions. No timeline yet, but development is underway. When we launch it, we also intend to launch our revamped Developer Rewards program.
