The Android landscape continues to evolve, and we’re evolving with it. Today marks a significant milestone for Androidacy as we roll out comprehensive updates designed to streamline our operations and deliver a more consistent, powerful experience for our community.
A Leaner, Faster Androidacy Experience
Our development team has been hard at work behind the scenes, and the results speak for themselves. Our new website theme isn’t just about aesthetics – it’s fundamentally faster and leaner than what came before. Page load times have improved significantly, and navigation feels more responsive across all devices. We’ll continue making tweaks as needed, but feel free to browse around!
Alongside the performance improvements, you’ll notice our refreshed logo making its debut across all platforms. We felt it was time for a change, and you agreed. The new design better captures what we’re really about: empowering you to build and customize your Android experience exactly how you want it. It’s simpler, cleaner, and more representative of the streamlined direction we’re heading.
New Simplified Subscription Tiers
We’re introducing a clearer, more straightforward subscription structure with three distinct tiers that better serve different user needs, replacing the previous Free/Ad-Free/Premium/Platinum plans that some users found hard to navigate. You’ll also find the new plans are cheaper than our old, which is always welcome in this world of ever increasing prices.
Free Tier provides access to our core functionality with some reasonable limits. Free users can download up to 10 items per day at 1 MB/s speeds (this limit dynamically adjusts based on current server load), read 10 articles before encountering a brief video ad, and will encounter CAPTCHAs and wait times as part of our anti-abuse measures. This is not majorly changed from our legacy plans.
Pro Tier ($3.99/month) removes limits that can slow down power users. Pro subscribers enjoy unlimited downloads at unlimited speeds (subject only to current server capacity), unlimited article access, fewer CAPTCHAs, reduced wait times, and exclusive access to additional themes and features.
Premium Tier ($7.99/month) includes everything in Pro plus early access to new features and direct one-on-one support when you need it most.
Both paid tiers offer yearly subscriptions with two months free – a solid value for users who plan to stick around. Note some features may roll out at a later date.
Simplifying Our Offerings
As part of this restructuring, we’re retiring the Ad-Free plan for new signups. This decision helps us focus our resources on delivering better value through our new tier system. Current Ad-Free and other legacy plan subscribers can continue using their existing plans until they choose to cancel or fail to renew, but we encourage exploring our new options when renewal time comes.
If you’re currently on one of our legacy plans and want to upgrade, you’ll need to cancel your existing subscription first before selecting a new tier. For subscribers who joined before June 2024, you may encounter issues canceling directly through our website – if this happens, you’ll find a direct link to the Stripe billing portal to complete the process on your Membership Account page. Note our refund policy applies, so we cannot refund or prorate from the legacy plans.
We’ve also reworded our language around our subscription offerings for clarity and ease of understanding. Features from legacy plans may not map 1:1 with our new ones.
What’s Coming Next
Androidacy Module Manager V3 has been a long time in the making – longer than any of us originally planned. But we’re finally confident in saying it should be ready soon. Within the coming weeks, we’re planning to release a public beta through Google Play, giving our community the chance to test and provide feedback before the full launch.
Font Manager users haven’t been forgotten either. While AMM V3 has demanded much of our attention, we have a significant Font Manager update in development that will improve the font application system, boost app performance, and ensure compatibility with Android 15 and beyond.
Our Commitment to Responsibility
These business changes come with renewed commitments to both our community and the planet. We’re dedicating a portion of our profits to carbon removal efforts, acknowledging our responsibility as a growing tech platform. We’ll also continue exploring options to support the communities we operate in, and to give back.
We’re also developing a completely new module creator rewards program to replace our previous system. The old program required too much manual intervention and didn’t work as well as we’d hoped for creators or for us. The new system will be more automated, pay per download (from real humans, not bots), and we believe it will foster more creativity and innovation from our community.
Moving Forward
These changes represent more than operational improvements – they’re foundational steps toward the platform we envision Androidacy becoming. We have much more planned for the months ahead, and we’re excited to share that journey with our community.
The Android customization space thrives on innovation and community, and these updates position us to better serve both. Whether you’re a casual user exploring your first custom ROM or a developer pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we’re building something that works better for everyone.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thank you for being part of the Androidacy community.
